MK8SM Cigarette Making Machine
2,500 cigarettes per minute from a proven, automation-upgraded maker.

Overview
The MARK 8SM (MARK SM) cigarette making machine produces up to 2,500 cigarettes per minute at a maximum tobacco rod speed of 175 metres per minute. It is equipped with a hopper suitable for pneumatic tobacco feeding or hand (skip) feeding, along with a centralised dust-collection system, a hydraulic weight-control unit, an écréteur with plain or denser end discs, and a "C"-type single- or double-colour printer with bronzing. Built from high-precision, heat-treated components and updated with VFD speed control, a PLC system, an operator interface and solid-state proximity sensing devices, it runs reliably with negligible rejection and can be linked with a plug assembler such as the PA 7RO.

This Machine Is for You If...
You need high-speed medium-scale cigarette production for Tobacco Industry production
You're upgrading from manual processes to automated compact facility manufacturing
You need a machine that delivers produces up to 2
How It Works
- 1
Cut tobacco is metered by the feeder for an even, consistent rod.
- 2
A moving garniture tape gathers and shapes the tobacco into a continuous rod of controlled density.
- 3
Cigarette paper is wrapped around the rod and the lap seam is glued and sealed.
- 4
A rotating knife cuts the rod into individual cigarettes for transfer downstream.
The MK8SM is the compact member of the Molins Mark-8 maker family that MOI builds — the same proven rod-forming principle in a smaller footprint, suited to modest or variable production volumes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the MK8SM a different technology from the MK8?
No — it uses the same Mark-8 maker principle; the compact build denotes a smaller footprint and throughput.
Why choose a compact maker?
Lower capital cost, a smaller footprint, and a better fit for modest or variable production volumes.
Does it produce filter cigarettes?
It produces the tobacco rod; filter tipping needs a coupled plug-assembler unit.
