The machinery line we build began in Calcutta in 1960 and has been engineered in Mohali, Punjab for over five decades. In 2022 we acquired its complete intellectual property. We kept the people who knew it best.
The same drawings. The same patterns. The same hands.
Under a new company. With the same hands.
In 2022 a new company, MOI Engineering Private Limited, acquired the complete intellectual property of this precision-machinery line: every design, every pattern, and the MOI Engineering name, trademark and logos. We took on the genuine line, its real drawings, not reverse-engineered copies.
We took custody of six decades of drawings and brought the engineering team along with them. Every machine and every spare we ship today comes from those original designs, built by the same hands that have made them for years. We support the original clients who have run these machines for decades, and new ones discovering them now.

1965
Move to Chandigarh
Operations relocate to the Chandigarh industrial area.
1972
The Mohali Plant
The company establishes its manufacturing plant in Mohali, Punjab, where it has been based ever since.
1980
An All-Indian Company: MOI Engineering Ltd
Molins UK exits and sells its stake. Now fully Indian and publicly listed, the company is renamed MOI Engineering Ltd and consolidates everything in Mohali. Cigarette-making machines are built for ITC, Godfrey Phillips and other leading Indian manufacturers.
Mid-1980s
Offset Printing Division
An offset printing division is added, building Rota printing machines.
Mid-1990s
Packing Machines & a New Name
A packing-machines division is created: soap wrapping, biscuit packing and more. The company is renamed Molind.
1997
Into Pharmaceuticals
Capsule-making machines for the pharmaceutical industry enter production.

The Legacy, Carried Forward
A new company, MOI Engineering Private Limited, acquires the complete IP, designs, patterns and the MOI Engineering trademark, and brings the engineering team with it. Same designs, same patterns, same hands. Now supplying spares and new machines to original and new clients.

That six-decade line of drawings isn't an archive on a shelf. It's what comes off our shop floor every week. Our machines make 5,000 cigarettes per minute, wrap 350 packets per minute, and fill up to 1.8 million capsules per day. They run in factories across 20+ countries, from Southeast Asia to the Middle East, from Africa to Europe.
Because we hold the original designs and patterns, the spares we make fit the first time: no reverse-engineering, no guesswork. And because the same engineers are still here, the machine you bought decades ago and the one you order tomorrow are supported by people who know it part by part.
