This Machine Is for You If...
You need high-speed filter attachment for Tobacco Industry production
You're upgrading from manual processes to automated high-speed cigarette assembly
You need a machine that delivers assembles 3
How It Works
- 1
Filter rods from the rod maker are positioned as a double-length plug between two tobacco rods, end to end.
- 2
Tipping paper is fed and cut into patches on a tipping drum.
- 3
A rolling drum wraps a glued tipping-paper patch around the junction, bonding the filter plug to both tobacco rods.
- 4
The assembled double unit is cut at the centre into two finished filter cigarettes.
- 5
Finished cigarettes are delivered to the catcher or conveyor for packing.
The MAX-series plug assembler is the filter-tipping unit in the Molins lineage — the machine that bonds filters to tobacco rods. It is functionally the classic “Max” filter attachment long coupled to Mark-8 and Mark-9 makers.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does a plug assembler do?
It attaches filters to tobacco rods with tipping paper, then cuts the double assembly into two finished filter cigarettes.
Does it need a separate maker and rod maker?
Yes — it sits between them, taking tobacco rods from the maker and filter rods from the plug maker.
Can it couple to both MK8 and MK9 makers?
Yes. Max-type assemblers couple to either and synchronise to the maker’s output speed.
