Overview
The MK4 is a rotary tobacco cutting machine built for primary processing, cutting up to 2,700 kg of tobacco an hour. It accommodates all blends of leaf and stem and produces tobacco of any desired texture. Leaf is conveyed and compressed through an adjustable-pressure mouthpiece to an eight-knife rotary cutting head; the knives shear the compressed material into cut tobacco of consistent width. A high-speed grindstone keeps every knife at razor sharpness, dressed automatically by a diamond and served by integral dust extraction so the cut product is never contaminated. A hinged fibre-glass safety cowl with interlock and delayed opening protects the operator at the cutting head.
