The Capsule Programme: 26 Years of Supply

MOI's printed installation record for the ACM capsule making machine spans 1988 to 2014: nine plants across India, and one behind the Iron Curtain.

The Record

Nine Plants, One Printed List

MOI's diversification into pharmaceutical machinery is older than most assume: the first ACM capsule making machines in the record date from 1988. Over the next 26 years the list grew past thirty machines, delivered to the plants that made India's hard-gelatin capsules: Capsugel in Gurgaon (then Bharti Healthcare), Healthcaps in Ropar, Dee Pharma in Bulandshahr, EEI Capsules and Fortcaps in Bhopal, Medicap in Indore, National Capsules in Vidisha, and Quester Capsules in Nashik.

One entry stands apart: the Minsk Plant, USSR. Delivering precision pharmaceutical machinery into the Soviet Union (through Soviet-era procurement, inspection and logistics) put a Mohali-built machine on a production floor few Western OEMs reached.

A capsule machine is arguably the hardest thing MOI builds: pin bars, dip pans and drying kilns that must hold gelatin-film tolerances measured in microns, hour after hour. A 26-year record of repeat institutional buyers is what competence in that discipline looks like on paper.

Why It Matters Today

The Same Line, Three Decades On

The ACM line never stopped evolving. Today's ACM-XFH 1050 fills up to 1.8 million capsules a day, and the BOSS strip boxing machine carries the pharmaceutical range downstream into packing. The drawings, tooling and process knowledge behind them descend directly from the machines in this record.

For a capsule manufacturer evaluating MOI today, this record is the due diligence: not a claim of experience, but a printed list of who bought the machines, where they went, and over how many years.
